I need to find out what should be involved in a 60000mile maitenence check for my car. at $600.00 it seems like a big rip off. I know changing the timing belt is involved but does that seem right?

Shoot it, it’s done. No just kidding. The usual oil change with filter fuel filter plugs wires (check the gap) air filter check the belt or belts tire pressure wheel balance. I could go on for ever. Eye ball the owners manual, that should tell you everything you need to do. The only time I change my timing belt is when the water pump goes out, or it just plain blows. $600.00 is f n insane. I’d ask around I would do it for $200.00 and that’s nuts.

That all depends upon the vehicle. Your service center should have given you a bill detailing all that was done to your vehicle. Apparently you are having difficulty digesting the bill so it would be best for them to explain what was done.

The owners manuals most likely will only tell you the service intervals, not the checks and services.

Changing the timing belt alone on some cars will run as much as what you paid for the entire service.

Without knowing the car, and what was done for that amount of money it would be very difficult to render a credible answer to your question.

I would suggest talking to the service representative of where you had your vehicle serviced or provide year, make, model, and engine, of the vehicle in question.

Depending on the make a timing belt job can be 350 to 500 some even more. Just have them do the timing belt a trans.service.

The owners manuel should tell you.
Or perhaps you could find out by googleing your make and model of vehicle.
If you wish the dealer you bought the car from may be able to help you, too!
60K is not a tremendous amount of miles on a vehicle.
I have 112K on my pickup and it drives nice. I sometimes have to pay repairs but they haven't equealed a years car payments, yet!
