In ancient times mind was all capable and over a long period of time there has been a shift from Mind to Machine and if it continues like this, one day human mind would be a total slave of Machines, and partially that is at this stage!!

yeah..true that we r dominated by machines. our lives r so dependent on machines and we r lifelss without them.

and true tht we have reduced/minimized the usage of our minds and body too bcz of the machines that offer us so many chores at the press of a button.

people need calculators to do simple additions and substractions or mulitiplication etc. for ex even if we wanna know wht is 2 X 2, we r habituated to solving it on a calculator! tht is the sad situation of the present generations.

and that must confirm how dependent we r on these gadgets.

why just calculators, it is every where...people r hooked to the gadgets.

children prefer pcs and tvs to out door games or reading...and most of them r couch potatoes.

nothing wrong if we use science and sophistication for our day to day life. but may be we should remind ourselves once in a while tht we need tht human touch..? and try not to become slaves of the machines and gadgets.

:-) and happy science day to u...

No, so long as man remains a master of all the machines he creates, he will never be enslaved but further if he continues performing higher tasks than those standardised for machines !

I am afraid you are right.
I have seen kids at the age of 16, 17, 18 yo that they do not know how to make a division or a multiplication without the use of a calculator.
they are tought how to loose their mind and how to depend on machines(calculators)
Many years ago (my era) we used to learn how to divide and how to extract the square root of any number at 5th grade of elementary. (Division was at grade's 3 caricullum).

I am not against the development of the technology and use of it.
but we must not put our minds in no use.

Offcourse not.rather it encourages human mind to go for more n test its limits n create more developed and complex machinery. But u can say that this is making human beings physically meak.by machines they get their work done without getting much physical themselves.

Not really. Machines do the 'scut work' so that minds are free to think about bigger and more interesting things.
