Which evil are you refering to? The evil of being too politically correct? Bending over backwards so as not to offend those who would like to kill us all? Or the evil of criminals who seem to be the ones who have the rights , at the expense too often of those who try to abide by the law? If that is what you mean, then I am all for it.

A basic problem is that the government has gone a long way towards weakening the power of the people, the power to get the politicians out of office by popular vote, the power of the people to take control of their own destiny.
The founders - all of them - understood that the right to keep and bear arms, independently of government control, is the ultimate foundation of a free people's liberty. The ballot should be backed by a bullet as a last resort. But more and more gun control laws are lessening the strength of the people as against the strength of the government. We are being transformed into servants of the state, the state which should instead be the servant of WE THE PEOPLE.
Then we are being steadily weakened by the rejection of what the founders taught - that the highest authority in America is WE THE PEOPLE. The people delegate powers to the government. The government cannot grant or "give you" rights, because all rights originate in the people. All the government can do is restrict your rights and take them away, or prevent you from exercising them.
As Mikhail Bakunin points out in his essay "God and the State," the tyrant who seeks to dominate the people always allies himself with religion. Thomas Jefferson too saw that, as he said, the priest is always in alliance with the despot.
And so we see more and more promotion of the falsehood that America belongs on its knees, America is dependent on an outside authority in the sky, America should bow and grovel and pray. The idea that America is "under God" is absurd and cowardly. America at its best is not under anything or anybody. The words "under God" injected into the Pledge are not part of our traditional heritage; they were put there only in 1954. If you personally want to get down on your knees and beg your God to rescue you, then be my guest. But don't take my beloved country down there with you. My America is not a servant of any foreign state nor of anybody's choice of gods or of any other authority but WE THE PEOPLE.
The America I love is the America of its founders. That America has been betrayed by self-serving crooks and idiots such as the present "decider" whose folly and self-absorption is wrecking and impoverishing the country. It's time for WE THE PEOPLE to band together and take our country back from his kind.
America first. America first, last and all the time. America not just a servant state on its knees, begging for favors from some celestial authority upstairs nor for aid from overseas or from the UN or anyone else. America standing upright and proud and free. America first. America independent, the homeland for independent-minded people. Self-reliant people. America first. America first.

No. In this country we are far to complacent and happy. As far as the "evil" running our government, well one persons evil is another's good. There is no longer any unity in this country. The government keeps us all divided into our little groups by using such racial and social epithets as African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic-American, Native American. Note that the one group they do not Label is the European-American. Why? Well that group is the majority and they don't want it united. Why? If the European-Americans voted as a block, the minority votes would mean nothing.

I really hate all of this finger pointing, and "Feel good" politics that are taking over this country instead of trying to solve the problem. We should just shut down all borders (National Guard), suspend all visa's and green cards, then we should ALL get together to address the problem of "people who are trying to kill us just because, we are Americans". I live in NY, and it is quite clear to me, that people don't like us. We can NEVER please the world, no matter what good we try and do, let's get organized, AND PUT AMERICA FIRST, before we all lose a great nation, that has stood alone against evil before, that's what we do best ! UNITED WE STAND !

Holy moly. The mentality in these question/answer threads is frightening. One IDIOT advocates the "elimination" of Christians to make this a great country "again". Umm... here's a newsflash: the Founders of this nation WERE Christian. Read their writings. The further back in time you go, the more Christian (or at least God-aware) this nation was. Our Constitution was founded upon, gulp, Judeo-Christian principles. You have your freedoms to utter your bigoted, anti-Christian tripe BECAUSE of that. And, in spite of your evil words and beliefs, I would never advocate "eliminating" you nor would I push to take away your 1st Amendment rights. The Constitution grants you the right to be a bigoted moron, and therefore so do I. Another example of the tolerant left.
As for the "evil", what evil are you speaking of? That "evil" is the ONLY reason al Qaeda has suffered some devastating losses. That "evil" made error judgements re: Iraq, but the intents, IMHO, we're basically sensible and even honorable. I'll back that up.
a) Iraq's right on the borders of two of the world's worst terror-sponsoring nations, Iran and Syria. Turning Iraq into a pro-US republic would be a major blow to both nations' efforts.
b) Saddam Hussein financially supported the families of Hamas and Hezbollah to blow up Israelis, and gave aid and comfort to al-Zarqawi.
c) He broke the no-fly zone cease-fire many times, and received SEVENTEEN United Nations warnings to cool it.
d) He deliberately murdered at least 750,000 of his own people. Some estimates take that over a million.
e) The Iraqis demonstrated great anti-Saddam angst after the first Gulf War, and it seemed as if they were ripe for a liberating force. Afghanistan has not been fighting but has been working closely with us. I believe the Bush admin expected equally eager and enthusiastic cooperation from the Iraqi people after we eliminated the Hussein threat.
f) If Bush lied about WMDs to get at Iraq's oil, not expecting to actually find anything there, then why didn't he plant something there so that he wouldn't embarrass himself and the country?
g) If Bush lied about WMDs, then did not Tony Blair also lie? Did not Putin also lie? Did not Mubarak also lie? Did not Jeac-Chirac also lie? Did not the king of Jordan also lie or the very reputable Israeli intelligence agencies also lie? Did not the Left's poster-boy Bill Clinton also lie when, on national television, he said that Saddam was a threat that needed to be dealt with? I guess they were ALL in on the lie. Makes sense to me!
h) If Bush lied, would not the very pro-Bush press corps have thrown it on every page one in the country? What about the BBC or Le Monde? What about his political enemies at home, like Ted Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi? Don't you think that if hard evidence existed that proved a grand, evil conspiracy to steal foreign oil sources, these folks would have publicized it almost immediately? Of course they would. Why? Because it would accomplish what they lust for: the destruction of the Bush administration. But they didn't, did they?
Sorry, I support the president in his foreign policy. We've skirted and trusted and waved a finger and that was it. The result? NK has a budding nuke. Iran is developing one. Saddam Hussein laughed at the empty threats of the UN. We lost 7 skyscrapers in NYC and nearly 2,800 were killed there.
I may question certain parts of the PATRIOT Act, or the president's maniacal border policies. But it is about time SOMEBODY called evil what it is, and got tough with that evil. If you believe that being a radical pacifist is the way to stop Iran from developing a nuke to attempt Israel's destruction or al-Qaeda from hitting another American city, you're welcome to that POV. But in my opinion, that is dangerous and demonstrates a gross naivety about human nature. Sickos raised from toddlerhood to hate anything non-Muslim will not respond to flowers, my brother. No, they won't. Wake up, please, for all our sakes.

I think the biggest evil in the US are all you paranoid conspiracy believers. Further more I believe that political fights there have become self destructive and insulting with their chaos of manipulations. As much society needs to be "runned" by someone or something and in this sense manipulated for there is no other way to be a society, there must be just one certain direction and other parallels to control it otherwise it is all lost in the chaos.

The word "evil" has a definition attached to religion. Do you mean to say "insanity"?
Nontheless, in a (pseudo) democracy like ours you cannot expect "unity" unless and untill there is a common cause that is blatant (9/11) or overwhelming (crash of '29). The opinions currently are split, hence NO unity.

I believe what you are saying right now, but the problem is there are too many lawyers that have allready made it law that I can't pray at school with my son, we have to just influence who we can right now, I have tried the protests or complaining, there are too many laws right now.
We have to somehow come up with our own way for spreading Christ and keeping in touch with other believers at the same time.
