Does that mean parental love is transcendental and far more superior than the romantic love? We hardly see parents and children breaking up no matter how much hardship the relationship has gone through but lovers and spouses breaking up for trivial reasons is a commonplace example.

I'm not only referring the human parental love. If you look at animals, even they have such a strong bond between a mother and a child. What is that bond that makes it so strong?

Parental love originates from the moment our parents joined together and conceived us.This love bestowed for us which is unconditional is what makes it more superior than romantic love.Unconditional love can forgive and forget which is difficult for lovers to do unless the same love would develop between the two. And this makes it possible for romantic love to be equal with parental love.

Lovers may disentigrate especially if the foundation is not solid as a rock.It takes time before uncoditional love to takes place or evolve between spouses because they came from different cultures..they have different value system..they are two different entities trying to understand and accept each other.

Parental love is centered upon nurturing. You have to virtually destroy the value system they inculcated in you for them to give you up as lost. Romantic love is 90% gonads and 10% empathy. Some relationships never mature beyond that.

Because we've already known the reason of parental love and everyone accept it. It is true that we hardly see parents and children breaking up but we don't know what is inside. I am the one who want to break up with my parents but it is impossible because of the reason of Parental love. "They are my parents." Maybe if I can, I will be happyer than I am now.

Parental love is selfless where romantic love usually involves something rigid! If your lucky, romantic love evolves into parental love... but that takes time.

No. True Love doesn't look for reasons, it doesn't question anything. What you see everyday around you is not true Love. True Love is rare. And no hardship could ever brake it.
