....that people aged in their early 20's to mid 30's have the widest/ best taste in music. They still listen to new music whilst they also appreciate the golden oldies. Older people dismiss all new music as rubbish without ever listening to it and younger people havent really had enough life experience or listened to enough different music to make their minds up.

20s-30s, yes... teens listen to emo... when the hell did that happen?? The attitude tries to be a whiney goth, but the "music" is whine-only. At least Bauhaus rocked!

I'm 20 and I have a very narrow range in music both new and old but I do believe that I have the best taste in music.Especially when it comes to Mansun. They are the best even though they did split up a while ago.It doesn't alter the fact they are the best group around!Bet a lot of people have either not heard them or don't like them. They have always had a nice select group of fans. Not as many as some bands but this means they were able to take care of their fans, replying to every letter you gave and having a number you can ring to talk to them and if they weren't in they called you back. They are the nicest of people.Guess I'm rambling a bit though eh?What can I say?I was a devoted fan and collected every single and album they produced.

I am 32, and listen to a wide variety of music, as you say, i still like the older music and also love the new stuff. My parents are in their 50's, and whether it is my influence or not, they both listen to a lot of the new stuff. My dad is a rock and indie fan, listening the the killers, the arctic monkeys, muse etc etc.

I don't think so.... everyone is to their own. Some young generations may enjoy modern music and golden classics while some don't. And vice versa for the 'oldies'.

My grandmother enjoys listening to modern music as well as golden classics. She likes Daniel O'Donnell (Irish singer) and she enjoyed 'Take That' back in the 90s!! haha

I work in a radio station that is targeted at people 40 onwards. We play stuff from the 60's and a lot of modern songs are put into our playlist weekly and our listeners seem to enjoy them and often ring up to request the new additons on the playlist!

I'm 31 and feel sorry for the young kids having to listen to SOME of the dribble that's in the charts at the moment. I love everything from Billy Joel to Beyonce, Gladys Knight to Green Day, Wham to Westlife, Meat Loaf to Manilow ...
