I will make it clear... I am not talking about how humans formed a gorvernment or a society.. what I am asking is why do we humans call ourselves civilized? and that we compare our superiority to our early cave mans and animals as being uncivilized and wild. But then here we are acting the same way as any cave mans and animals would do. Kill and eat, hunt and gather food. Same way in modern times we work to eat and live comfortably. Cave mans and animals fight for their terretory. Just in modern times we fight for power and wealth....so I am saying we are no different then cavemans and animals....so whats the use of calling ourself civilized when we are no different than animals..are we still WILD?
When can we truely call ourself civilized?

Each generation of people determine what is "civilized." This determination has nothing to do with reality. It has to do with acceptable behavior by current society. For instance, most people today would agree the following behavior is uncivilized: spitting on the sidewalk, sticking used gum on a church pew, defecating in public, and using the "F" word at a senior citizen event. You get my meaning. In Roman days, amusing oneself by watching Christians being eaten by lions was a perfectly acceptable form of entertainment. Now we have television where we can see real people being killed and maimed and a certain celebrity photographed sans underpants. The killing is okay by today's values, but the underpants are not. Yes.....being civilized is a matter of opinion. And to be considered civilized, one has to have the majority vote.

being civilized is not how we dress, speak or live in fancy ways. I believe a civilized person is one who respect other cultures, understand true values of a person, rather than a persons wealth, physical assets etc.

To be civilized is to be urbane. It is a bunch of supercilious nonsense that denies the fact that we have only replaced the natural jungle with one of our own making.
