The physical cabling is compatible, Macs are IDE for years now, plug in and see what Mac OS X says, I'm assuming you know how to deal with master/slave jumper settings.

Almost All G4's have IDE interfaces. Earlier G4's also used SCSI. So long as you have an open bay in you G4, you can install the HD. Remember to designate that IBM drive as a "slave" drive, since OS X is on your "master".

Place it in a mac compatible external usb case.
