Their kits do get cleaned, my cousin used to play for Liverpool. They do get several of each shirt, but yes they are washed.
They are obviously thrown/given away if there is any damage to them as they are required to look like new, for sponsorship etc.

At professional clubs there is a kit man who washes & cleans the kits & the boots as well.

They would get a new one, they swap after matches so they have to. It doesn't cost anything to the team as that's why they have the kit supplier.
Perhaps the lower leagues may not (especially really low leagues).

its personal choice, to have 1 or 2 in a game, but the value of a worn signed shirt even if its only one half, is more than a new one so, unless a player wants the same lucky shirt, its a new one every match. they also swap and the end of most games, because some relative has asked you to get lampards or gerrards, or some hospice wants to raffle one for charity.

Well...in the Premiership they do, but not in my Sunday football league, my wife has to wash mine every Sunday...I dont make the rules.
