What are the chances of getting raped by a stranger? Or if not, by someone you know? Sure, I've always heard stories of the weird freak who walks around AUB in flip flops, or the taxi driver who literally wears no pants, but have you ever known somebody who has had the misfortune of getting raped in Lebanon? If yes, can you tell about it.

Hmmm.. interesting question. Rape is a word often underestimated in lebanon, in fact women are subjected to stuff like this more often than you think. It is common knowledge that most of the time "no" means "yes" for a high percentage of Lebanese men dont get me wrong I am not generalizing but when you hear it like more than 10 times from friends, you do start to believe it. Where I am in the UK this is a highly sensitive matter and not to be messed with but I know it is taken lightly and the girl is "blamed" for "putting herself in this position" which I think you will agree is a wrong way of justifying it.
I do remember being flashed once in Tripoli though. I was terrified, I was 18 (mentally still 15) it was really horrible. Also one time a taxi driver really freaked me out.
Just remember not to get in a taxi that isnt licensed with a red number plate!

Probably less than the average. I do not have accurate statistics, but I rarely hear of it.
The weird freak who walks around AUB is a myth lol. One doesnt have to be a taxi driver so that he "literally wears no pants". I assure you it happens outside the community of the "crazy cab drivers". I mean this procedure provides better "ventilation". Okay.. Im joking about that.
I know someone who was abused as a child. But I cannot provide you of any accurate statistics of how often this happens.

Lebanon rape rate is below than most of large cities around the world (like Chicago or even African cities), but we do not have transparent statistics about raping. Risks are usually low, especially if u stick to crowded areas. Avoid haging out in the night in dark streets...

go to your first question, the same as anywhere else there are freaks in every country, but because its not talked about it does not mean it does not go on in the Muslim world,
My sister was raped there. and she will not talk about it, she says it was worse because it happened in another country, and no one listened to her she felt that just because he was Muslim
he only treated her as chattel, and the other men would agree with what he said anyway,(and this was a street abduction rape not a lets go to bed oh I've changed my mind one )

Anyways, if any lebanese female was raped most probably her family will cover it up, because we have the "Virginity" a still strong issue in lebanon, so no one will understand she was raped they will probably say nooo she had sex and said she was raped. soo betabtebu el ousa wo they do an operation (my guess)
but as tushka said, dont go in a taxi alone @ night, if the number is not red then dont go there as well, i had my shares with taxi and once stopped him next to the police station and draged him there while i was shouting ( he was talking plain sex to me ) NYAKHHHH

Well you can't tell what the exact rate of rapes in Lebanon is, cuz people cover it up because it's "shameful". I did hear stories about people driving with no pants on and freaks like that, but dunno anyone who was raped.

I open the news paper everyday and I have never seen that there was a rape case before but mybe rape happened and the govt. kept it hidden so they won't scare people.
About those weird people I have never heard of them. But it is always good to take care.

The chances of getting rape in Labenon is extremely high especially if you are caucasian or Asian. But some men are very helpful to ladies and they politely asked to have sex with you. From a few strories that I heard from women, the Lebanese men are more or less like a French and the historical facts that I found in the internet shows that the Lebanese men are the second in the world who have long and big pennis. Number one is Sudan.

Nope furtunatley, i think we are a rape free country, ok some people might have been raped but maybe 1% only
