I graduated from high school, and went college as everyone had told me and expected me to do! Two years into college I become sick of it! I mean literally sick, I was always at the doctors office for something. Then I just couldn't get back into being in college. I didn't know what I wanted to do, or if the degree I obtained would help in the real world! So I decided to take a break from school and maybe get a job or try community college. During that time I was seeing a lot about the war in Iraq and decided I wanted to join the Air Force, I did a lot of research and joined, then I ended up in the hospital, because of that I have the opportunity to drop out of the Delayed Enlistment Program or change the date I'm scheduled to leave. I don't know whether I should go or stay and finish school. i really like all the Air Force has to offer, but i'm afraid to leave my family and friends, and don't know if i should get my degree first or if i'll regret not enlisting!!! advice please!

You can get grants for being in the armed services and if you decide to do distance education while in the Air Force, you could qualify for DANTES. If you've gone to a university, then you've probably already left your family and friends at least for periods of time... if you're in the military, you qualify for USAA which is AWESOME banking and automotive insurance and you also qualify for certain tax breaks. Something else you could consider is joining the Peace Corps... but that's 27 months.

If you have an opportunity to drop out of being in the military.. take it and run for the hills while you still have the chance!

Better to be a wishywashy civilian than a dead guy in the Air Force!

It sounds to me like you need to grow up and stop being a child. I would almost bet you have never completed anything you started.

Too bad you want out of the Air Force... it may give you a bit of maturity.. if you can stop being a child long enough for it to do you some good.

Get your degree first, but change subject area: the courses your taking now are not satisfying for you, that is why you are looking for something different and you are confused.
