Kirby Puckett. Best player. So sad, I am a Minnesotan and a Twin fan.

Kirby Puckett was a fan-favorite for many reasons -- and so far has escaped STEROID suspicion. He's the first Hall of Famer from the Steroid Era and has gone under the radar that's caught so many other hitters, from Palmiero through McGwire. However, if you look at Kirby's rookie and 2nd year cards... you see a small, skinny/wiry, weak/slap-hitting OF that hit 4hrs in @128 games two years in a row... and then, in the year when most people acknowledge STERIODs had its effect -- he hit a whopping 31hrs, with a vastly thicker upper-body. And his "look" was changed (although fans would yell themselves sick, trying to defend what they don't know).

The answer to this question is the late great Kirby Pucket. I live in Minnesota and am a huge Twins fan. Last year the Twins had the number 34 on their jersey.

Kirby Puckett of the Twins. Even though I am a Yankee fan, I am sad that Puckett died. He was a great player and a great person. He will never be forgotten. R.I.P. (1961-2006).

I'll say Tom Paciorek who caught the ball to send the Dodgers into the World series against the A's
