yes you do but you do not need one one the Sinai peninsula, i realise that hurghada is not on the Sinai peninsula but it is the red sea so i am unsure if you need one. However when you arrive at the airport there will be a number of kiosks for banks there you give the bank man approximately £10-£15 English pounds for each passport (depends on the exchange rate) they will give your change in Egyptian money and they will then give you 2 stamps for each passport, you must stick these into your passport on a clean page then go to the immigration kiosk and hand over your passport at that page with the completed card you will be given on the plane. this is the easiest and cheapest way to get your visa. you can also apply at the Egyptian embassy but it costs more and you need at least 4-6 weeks before you go to be sure of getting it back. you must also have at least 6 months left on your passport before you go finally dont change money here take english money in travellers cheques or cash and change it there. its cheaper and you get a better rate of exchange.

As with all visas, it depends on which country you are from (or hold a passport from) and how long you are planning to stay overseas.

US, UK, Canada, Australian and New Zealand citizens need a visa. A 30-day visa can be obtained on arrival in Egypt. If you are not from these countries, check with the Egyptian consulate or embassy in your country (they should have a website with the info).

Passports must be valid at least two months beyond the period of the visit.

If you are coming in from a country that stops in istanbul and then Egypt you have to have a visa from your country of origine, even though you only stay inside the terminal at istanbul. the authourities in turkey will not let you board if you do not have a valid visa. but all eu flights you will get your visa on arrival 100le,america canada ausy etc will land in a eu country usually so no probs, so the answer is yes you need a visa.
Coming in from Israel make sure you get your Israeli visa stamp on a paper not in your passport or you cannot enter another Arabic state, don't ask why but thats how it is.

For Hurghada yes you do. The only place in Egypt that you don't need a visa for is Sharm El Sheihk (the Sinai Region). They cost about $15us. And can be bought from the airport.

Depends on what country you're from. Unless you're from one of the countries that Egypt exempts from its visa requirements(Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the United Arab Emirates) you'll need a visa, but this can be purchased at your port of entry. You can of course go to your local Egyptian embassy to get one ahead of time if you want to be super-prepared.

Yes, you get a small piece of paper on the flight (usually) and you just have to fill in your passport number and your name and date of birth and where you were born. Then when you arrive at the airport you hand it in at the arrivals desk but you have to pay £10-£15 and that is it and then when you leave where you give your luggage they give you another piece of paper to fill in to hand in when you show your passport in departure.
