To stop these pop-ups follow these steps and it should stop after that!

1. Click on START then click on RUN

2. At the RUN prompt, type in: services.msc - a window will appear with information in it.

3. Scroll down this new window until you find "Messenger" and double click on "Messenger" - the Messenger Properties window will appear on your screen.

4. There will be a number of tabs - Click on the "General" tab. Where it says "Startup type" click on DISABLED. Then click "Apply" button at bottom of that window. Then close any of those windows.

This should now stop any alerter messages coming thru - don't worry it should not affect MSN Messenger if you use that for emailing, instant messaging!

Good luck

This has to be adware. Download Spybot Search and destroy from www.download.com do the updates then use the immunize feature and finally do a check for problems. This is a guaranteed fix. The do the same about once a month to keep your machine clean.

You'll have to open start-run-and type: msconfig
then disable all start up items.

second: right click on ur desktop and select properties - desktop - customize - web - and then remove any web content on ur desktop.

third: cleear all browser's cache and cookies...
restart, if you still have the pop ups, then un install any unknown program you found installed in add\remove list..

enjoy.
