I was told that one no longer uses the TH in writing sentences like this. So instead of the sentence above I should write: I'll see you on 27 May 2007. What I'm referring to here is sentences within a paragraph, not the date at the top of the page or on a business letter, etc.

I personally would write either 27th of May, 2007 OR 27th May, 2007. If you are in the US, you would probably write May 27th, 2007, since it is the practice there to write the month first, followed by the date!

Answer no.1 is OK but in the question, it seems "of" is not required.
