Prisoners seem to escaping from any prison in the country these days. Whose fault is it. Do you think inside-jobs, negligence, incompetency......what do you think should be done?

You don't even have to ask whether an inside job or not, just watch special assignment and you'll know it is an inside job. But look at it this way, building "escape proof" prison off the shore will not eliminate the problem. y? because you can guarantee that the corrupt officials - your wardens etc. will still be aiding these criminals to escape even the most hi-tech, escape proof prisons. These corrupt officials need to be dealt with in a manner that will ensure that they will not be involved in any corrupt or shady dealings with the prisoners, within the prisons. Because it's more than escaping prisons that's happening in prisons there is so much more happening and trust me there are some officials who are at the root of it all. And if we were to further investigate you'd be shocked at what you discover.

I think is all of it i dint think it is just one because they all roll in to one

Due to the guards incompetency to act in a respectful manner and with dignity and not thinking of the citizens they are open for bribery which then makes it a inside-job. Due to the fact that it is now a inside-job the guards find themselves do fall under negligence.

Now for what can we do about this - respect, respect and once more respect
Respect one self and know what is right and wrong don't be greedy cause this will lead to your down fall and the whole country. Respect and honor your country by trying to make it a better place to live in for all

The guards have to remember they aren't only putting other people's life at risk if they help the prisoners to escape but they are putting their own at risk, prisoners don't have a heart or respect for other people so they will kill you at a later stage

It is definitely an inside job, unfortunately i think many of the wardens accept 'Bribes" because they are not paid enough. When prisoners pay warders money so they can escape(get rights to have sex with other warders etc)they are offering them so much money they cannot refuse. When the Government starts to pay our wardens , police, nurses and everyone else in the "public works" system more money we will definitely have less problems with corruption.
Another solution would be to "fire" the entire force and hire new people. There are many people looking for work so i am sure this would not be a problem.

I agree with Poepies- the death penalty should definitely be brought back ,as at the moment there are no REAL consequences for criminals!

To find out what the problem is now you have to throw your mind back to a time when the prisons worked and prisoners didn't just walk out to go an carouse with their friends. Then ask yourself what has changed since then and now. The answer to the problem will be there.

Hi, definitely an inside job. I mean that guy who escaped from
C-Max, Vaseline, oh my oh my......

I say they should bring back the death penalty, I know it is very mean to say that, but the criminals in this country knows that nothing will come off it when they get caught. I mean, if they don't come out of jail before the time they should actually sit, they know with a bit of bribing they will be helped out.

Very disappointing isn't it?

i totally think its an inside job... i mean how many negligent officers would you have to go through to escape or get out of the prison? they just need to have a second man made Robben island to keep these prisoners there...as far away from shore as possible (in terms of swimming distance)

It is really a shame! I do believe that it is an inside job, whether they sawed the cell, or 'held-up' the wardens. Because of the police's low pay, I do feel that they get tempted to do all this to make more money to supplement their income. Not justified of course. However, does this not show that we need to put more value on the people that 'guard' or 'protect' us as a nation?
