Hinder is classified as pop rock and Daughtry as alternative rock.

music is music. one song may be one type of music, another a different type. for example, on the music choice channels on cable, i saw how long from hinder on the rock station, then flipping through not 10 min later, there was lips of an angel on the soft rock station.

hinder, are are crap in my opinion but if you want a serious answer they would be considered rock with emo overtones. chris daughtry, on the other hand is an awesome singer and the band's name is daughtry, and i would consider them just rock

well im listening to a hard rock station on Yahoo Launchcast radio station and they played Hinder.....so i guess they consider them hard rock
