put x = 1/4 and y = -1/8

3y - 5x = 3*(-1/8) - 5(1/4) = -13/8

but -13/8 > -5, therefore, not a solution

NO,Using the orded pair, substitute it on the inequality
x=1/4 and y=-1/8
therefore,
3y - 5x = 3*(-1/8) - 5(1/4) = -13/8

but however we wanted 3y-5x< -5
and -13/8 > -5

therefore the orded pair is not a solution of inequality!!
Hope this helps!!
