we'll be having juniors prom and since i liked the elder times theme, i ask a gown that looked somewhat vintage be made for me. it has long sleeves with funnel-like at the end. i love it. but i anticipated that everyone else will be wearing a tube gown or ones with sapgetthi straps. i thought this would make me unique so i said "okay" then i thought again that it would make me stand out which was a no-no for me. plus wouldn't i look like a dork there in the prom with long sleeves while all the others wore something totally different? i wouldnt want it altered because i hate baring my arms. ack! help? how do i stay eased when i see people talking? probably about me?

*the back cut is low anyway and my chest area is bare as it would have should it had been a tube, though with a difference that it had sleeves.

the dress sounds really gorgeus girl! if you really love this dres,, be confident, you're not changin for any1 else....if u loveit, ppl will luv it too, they will be able to tell by your posture and stuff.
so it has sleeves. so what? the rest of the dress, from ur description, sounds like wat other ppl wud be wearing.
it just has more class, style, and flair... i mean, not the NORMAL, boring..modern tube tops and stuff. its like adding somehting special to a tube top.
have fun at the prom!! just be yourself, loosen up. its a prom. ppl will be too busy dancing. they won't be tlking, if they are, its gonna be good. giv them sumin to talk about!
good luck xx

Just dance over and say, 'Hey watcha guys talking about?' 'or, don't you love the music?' and if they look uncomfortable or glare at you, then just say, "Did you know where I got my dress? And I thought it would totally match the theme...." And if no one asks you to dance, then just say to everyone you see, "Everybody is too chicken to dance with a vintage girl like me, they all want clones wearing spagettie straps and tube gowns. How horrible!"

Sweetheart, if you think you like the sleeves i say go for it... fashion is about standing out. I'm sure you can carry off a dress like that beautifully. Oh and by the way there's absolutely nothing wrong with showing off your arms. That's the least anyone shows off...

don't panic...the dress sounds lovely... you can't go wrong with a classic style they never go out of fashion....and being unique is a good thing......... if you think they are talking about you..just pretend they are envious of your dress..which they probably will be.....you will be just fine....the important thing is go and have a good time.....that is what the dance is all about......
