My nephew is 1 yr, and is 18 lbs, he was tested for several different things. Neg. results. Dr. said he's probably just going to be short or he will go through a growth spert (sp.) basically he's healthy he's the right weight for his height, just not for his age, Should she worry? Has this happened to anyone else?

All kids grow and develop differently. As long as he is nice and healthy, eating and drinking, playing and fighting, crying and laughing etc. Then he should be fine. He may be short and theres nothing wrong with that and of course he will experiance growth spurts. Just make sure he is healthy and happy and he will grow to the size he is meant to be.

No, children go through growth spurts. My nephew was like that. Very small and weighed less than other children his age. He went through a growth spurt and now he is the tallest kid in his class. Boys also take more time growing than girls. Remember being in elementary school and all the boys were short and then you went to middle school and they had all grown? There isn't anything to worry about as long as he is healthy.

Let's see now...I weighed in at a whopping 5 pounds 4 ounces at birth...my ex was 5 pounds 6 ounces when he was born. Our daughter was 5 pounds even when she was born and didn't even get ON the growth chart until she reached puberty, she was right on the bottom line of the growth chart. She has always been petite but it has it's advantages. Up until two years ago she was able to get into movies and amusement parks for 12 and under. At the airline ticket counters they would actually ARGUE with her ID and automatically give her a child's ticket. Now at 21 she looks like she is about 14 If she goes to an R rated movie the ask for her ID because they think she is under age. Of course she gets carded in bars and one guy called the cops on her because her "fake" ID had her photo but what he felt was the wrong date of birth (1986)...The police ran her ID and sure enough...it had the correct date of birth as well as photo. She got all of her drinks for free that night. She stands a whopping 5 foot even and weighs in at about 105 pounds...but the size is misleading because this "little" girl sports a third degree Black Belt in Eagle Claw Kung Fu...got her first when she was 15 and sparred and fought against guys twice and three times her size. Dynamite comes in small packages!

My aunt became 110lbs 5'2" her husband became 125lbs. 5'3" and all her 3 babies have been above 9lbs. surely her first became 10lbs. 2oz. Her babies at the instant are adults and that they are small (her tallest is 5'5") yet so a techniques as whilst they have been born sure they have been huge. it fairly is going to all rely on your physician on no rely in case you have a c-section or not. i comprehend that my physician won't pre-software a c-section she would be in a position to try for a organic and then if it fails she would be in a position to do a c-section. yet there are some medical doctors (like my sister in rules) that programed her c-section whilst she became 18 weeks pregnant and informed her that by way of her length (125lbs. 5'3") she does not be waiting to grant organic. My aunt did have all organic births by potential of how. She did tear and had to be stitched returned up however.

Babies grow at different rates. If he is eating and active and the dr doesn't seem too worried, just enjoy him. If he's not
eating and active, that's different and really should be checked further, maybe by a second dr.
Hope all goes well. I'm betting he starts outgrowing his clothes very soon
