Do you want the cheapest or the shortest flight?
If you are on a budget, you have two options, both of which cost $1130 plus taxes and fees:
(1) Leave Manila for Tokyo via Japan Airlines (JAL), then leave Tokyo for San Francisco via United Airlines (UAL), leave San Francisco for Washington, DC via United Airlines, and leave DC for Sao Paulo via United Airlines. This is an overnight flight totaling 34 hours and 45 minutes.
(2) Leave Manila for Tokyo via JAL, leave Tokyo for Chicago, IL via UAL, and then from Chicago to Sao Paulo via UAL. This is is an overnight flight totaling 35 hours and 50 minutes.
If you want the shortest flight possible, leave Manila for Japan via JAL, from Tokyo to Los Angeles, CA via JAL, from LA to Miami, FL via American Airlines, and then from Miami to Sao Paulo via American Airlines. The overnight trip lasts 32 hours and 10 minutes and the cost is $2236 plus taxes and fees.

Dark Angel must be working for JAL, eh? Heehee.
Take a straight flight to Los Angeles, PAL has the most direct route (12 hours). Then take Varig on to Sao Paolo for another 12 hours. That is the most direct if you are looking for the shortest flying time possible.
