Do I stay the entire day or can I leave early? I've finished clearing out my desk and stuff and my immediate boss is on leave (took off last night after wishing me luck)-- and even if he were here he wouldn't give me any work.
So what should I do once I've cleaned up my desk etc...there's no HR here...so do I just say bye to everyone and leave or what?

Just stay until the last minute... Just consider it is a normal working day.

Don't leave early unless you told to do so.

You have to finish the day by bidding farewell to everyone that you know in the immediate vicinity and to the bosses around, if possible, in case you are not the boss and prepare a list of things that are still pending either within the office or waiting for a reply from outside the office.

You need to give tips to somebody who replaces you if he/she is not familiar with work. Complete the day unless your boss allows you to go early. Make sure that your successor will not complain that you made a mess in your work, or something like that. In short, leave the place in good order and in good attitude.

You can give also your telephone numbers or forwarding address just in case someone wants to find you.

Do all work that you possibly can. Do not leave early unless told to do so. Be nice to everybody, act as if you might someday need to come back.

go out like a professional leave at the end of yer shift, say yer goodbyes, never know what the futures holds, or where these co-workers could end up later in yer career

Be normal and work like any other day, except when management decide otherwise as part of their farewell to you
