Well I'll be a wallaby. That very thing happen' to me in the Great War!
You Limeys had come aroun' and knocked up a bunch of us Aussies to go off on your little "Expeditionary Force" into Belgium and France. Why you blokes called it the British Expeditionary Force I have no idea -- weren't like we were all Brits mind you.
So we's gets there and there's a chance to sign on with this "aero squadron." Sounded a whole lot bloody safer then those trenches I'll tell you. Back off the front lines, roof over your ead and three squares a day! Right by me.
Nobody said a bloody ting about gettin' shot at 2,000 feet above the ground. Sooner ave a roo stomp on me gems than do that!
So anyway...ends up flying with this yank by the name of Waldo Pepper. Ravin' lunatic he was. One day he says to me "Rupert," I was born William, so they called me Rupert back then. "Rupert he says... you crawl out with a machine gun on the lower wing of the Spad...we just might be able to shoot us down a few Germans."
So we got drunk that night; tried it; and din't shoot down any Germans.
Last time I listened to that wanker Waldo I'll tell yea.

Yes but only if I take a supply of clean knickers with me. But I would be flying on a wing and a pray believe me.

I have always wanted to soar High in the Sky like an eagle.

No I wont go on an aeroplane in the inside, so I wouldn't even think about going on the outside of one. The thought terrifies me.

No but, not because I am afraid of heights. It's because the air up there gets thinner and thinner the higher you go and you actually could die from lack of oxygen.
