I have a music theory homework due tomorrow.
A lot of the questions look like

-Write a single line melody based on indicated harmony.

They give us a blank treble clef.
Now what the hell is a single line melody?
can someone give me an example of that.

A single line melody based on an indicated harmony would mean that you should write a melody (one voice) that is structured around the harmony. If the treble clef is blank, are there chords in the bass clef? If not, you could feasibly write any melody as long as it is only one voice. Just be prepared to provide a chord structure for that melody.

methinks they're looking for the basic line of the melody, no chords. Sounds like they give you a harmony and want you to write the melody that goes with it; probably some sort of scalic thing would work but are they looking for a particular mode?
