I am writing a book and I need another word that means human or mortal. I can't think of a good one, I was hoping someone out there will help me. It could mean non magickal people...not muggle. I don't like taking someone else's idea. Make it unique but original. Anything will do.

No I don't mean anything like earthians. I mean just normal everyday folk. I want a word that means non magickal but human. Regular people, you know?

I am looking for something ORIGINAL. Not something people use from day to day. Not humans, not homosapiens. Hasn't anyone ever read Harry Potter, she came up with a word for non magick folk...muggles...I am looking for the same thing. But different. Something that sounds ancient.

Firstly, you ought not to spell magic with a "k" there is no need magic isn't about justification and real magic is obvious to differentiate from stage trickery and hocum.
Devaarceintari (pronounced Day-var-sen-tar-e) means a non magical person Devaarceintarise (pronounced Day-var-sen-tar-reese) is the plural.
Meiduovaeicar (pronounced Med-oo-v-ca) means mortal and the plural is Meiduovaeicaren (pronounced Med-oo-v-cren.)
Halaianaiaan (pronounced Ha-lie-an-eye-an with extra emphasis on the last n) comes from Halaian (pronounced Ha-lie-an extra emphasis on last n also) which means Earth and "Aiaan" meaning "people of". So Halaianaiaan means people of Earth or in other words humans, however can extend to refer to magical creatures (fairies etc.) or elves as they to are people of Earth.
If you want any more words feel free to send me an email, especially if you want to know about the language/words I used.

People from Earth can be called Terrans. Primates might work. Children of Earth? Merehum is a term is read about in the Illuminati Trilogy, it's short for 'mere human'.

The best I could come up with are from 'old English' - the Celtic ones are too hard to say let alone spell!
wight; swain; gossoon;
The Welsh have some interesting ones too, but like the Celts they too are hard to say let alone spell! Of course you could take poetic licence and rearrange them to your purposes. Best of luck.

How about "Man." Or to not offend those of the fair sex, "Woman."
Not original but how about, "Mortals." Or if you wish to coin a new usage, "transients," you know, like those who are 'just passing through.'
Good luck with your book.

How about 'vroti'? If spelt correctly in Classical Greek, it means that very thing.
