At 18 I'm still such a crybaby when I'm in pain!

As a professional dancer I often experience painful injuries.
Yesterday I sprained my ankle and, even if I tried to contain myself as much as I could, after a while I burst into tears.

It was embarassing and it always makes me fell such a baby!
Last week my teacher had the same accident and she didn't shed one tear.

I had always though that, by growing, I would have been able to improve my reactions, but now I wonder if this can happen...

What do you think: is it true that crying is for kids only?
Can you still cry for bad physical pain?

Thanks for your answer

I cried when I got the majority of my teeth smashed out in an accident. It hurt like you cannot believe, and so did the massive oral surgery that followed.

I cry when it hurts really bad- like a broken bone or something.
Crying is not just for kids when it comes to severe pain. Maybe your teacher has a much higher tolerance for pain than you do. I was about 18 when I broke my pinky toe tripping.

Everyone expresses differently. It's fine to cry when you're in pain.

Babies cry at pain, but also with discomfort...the discomfort of a dirty diaper, the discomfort of feeling in need to be held and nurtured when they're not getting it...
