I'd like to see it, but I heard a few bad things about his acting as Norman Bates ...

:) Thanks!

Vince was in the remake, he was ok in it, but I have to say, see the original first. Fantastic film.

(The original) was the first film that you had to see from the beginning, before that you could just walk into the cinema at any time (half way through the film etc) Hitchcock didn't want to ruin the suspence and the ending so he insisted that you went from the beginning.

It's not good, but also not as horrible as most critics would have you believe. It is bizarrely pointless. Not sure if you're a theatre goer, but if you've ever seen a play performed by two different casts - it's kind of like that. Pointless, and not very good.

The one point where it made me chuckle was in the modernised reading of Marion Crane's colleague's lines - in the original she's a naive housewife, but in the new version all her lines are dripping with irony - best bit about it, but it only lasts for a few minutes.

At the end of the day, Vaughn can't hold a torch to Perkin's perfect portrayal.

I thought the remake that Vince Vaughn was in was a bit pointless. It was a pretty much word for word, scene for scene remake of the original but didn't capture the tension and creepiness of the original.
He wasn't great in it but when you're trying to re-make a classic I think what ever you come up with will be short of the mark (see also the pointless re-make of The Omen and don't even get me started on The Wicker Man!)

No I don't think he was very good in it, but I think that was because of the way he was directed to do it. He just stood there and stared a lot but it did not have them same impact like it did in the original. It didn't really manage to portray the complex issues of why this guy was a psycho and why he stabbed her in the shower. If I hadn't of seen the original I would have had no idea what Vaughn was supposedly thinking/feeling.

He was in the re-make of Psycho, I've not seen it but a few people I know have and they said that it was rubbish and I know that the critics said that it wasn't any good as well. But everyone has different opinions about things so they only way to tell is to watch it and see what you think

no not very good! He's a comedy actor & should never have tried to croos over into serious acting! I kept expecting him to come out with a one-liner!
