It would be difficult to fit it all in a day. Depends if you like city sights/ shpping etc. If you have only a day then I would suggest visiting KL- you can take a taxi ride to the main historical sights of interest or a guided tour offered by the hotels- going round the city centre would give you a feel about the place eg modern buildings amid the older historical ones with their own distinct architecture. Visit the Twin Towers, KLCC for a walk and shops, the mosque, museum and try some local food which is available everywhere. Best to go with a guide if you can.

Kuala Lumpur is the best place to visit. You can visit the Petronas Twin Towers, where the Suria KLCC shopping complex is also located or you can stroll around the Dataran Merdeka, a historic square in Malaysia. But one day is not enough to see the beautiful sights of Malaysia.

If you are in KL, i would suggest:
1. Twin Towers - Its free but get their early as it gets booked up.
2. KLCC shopping centre - Next to twin towers
4. Batu Caves - A cave up a load of steps with bats and buda stuff.
5. Bukit Bintang shopping centres - Ok but can easily be missed
6. Central market - has old local stuff
7. Petaling Street - A large market with counterfeit stuff, (from clothes to jewellery) but only after 6pm. - Next to central market - NOT TO BE MISSED, but watch your valuables as there are thieves about.
Get a taxi everywhere but after 4pm traffic is horrendous and it will take you ages so try and catch the sky train.
Alway ask taxis to run by the meter - But give them a decent tip.
If you cant find one that will run by the meter agree a price beforehand and don't tip.
For food try the local food cafe/restaurants. Its very cheap for a decent portion about 5 ringgit.

My advice- Go to Genting Highlands.
It's more than just a Casino.
For shopping, KL is a shopping paradise. KLCC is expensive. Try 1-Utama or Mid-Valley. And do compare prices before you make decision to purchase because some unscrupulous seller will charge you 'tourist' price.
You can try the KL Towers- but try it at night.. the view is nicer.
Skip the National Museum & Zoo.
But KLCC is a must for photo shoots. The sight of it is simply fantastic!!!

Malaysia is one of the most pleasant, hassle-free country to visit in South-East Asia. Several decades of sustained economic growth and political stability have made it one of the most buoyant and wealthy countries in the region, and although political power (Malay) and economic clout (Chinese) are still traditionally divided along racial lines, Malaysia has moved towards a pluralist culture based on a vibrant and interesting fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures and customs.
u will need to decide which place u would like to visit as in just one day u cannot see too much. check out this site for details :
