Jakarta city is the capital of the Republic of Indonesia.Jakarta lies on the Java island the most pupolated island in Indonesia.Indone
sia has more than 17 000 islands.
Jakarta is a crowded city which has more than 13 million people in the workning days and about 9 million in the non working days.
Its traffic are jammed everyday and its air is high voluted by vehicles and industries Jakarta city is a city which is 24 hours alive..Jakarta has many high buildings for office and shopping centers,hotels and apartment resident.The city has many resta urants for European foods,Chinese foods,Italian foods,American foods and Indonesian foods .Jakarta has many cafes too for drinking and relaxing..Jakatra has many public bus transportation including taxis. and bajajs..and motor cycles for rent.
The city society is indefferent for each other.Almost all of citizen of Jakarta do not know well their neighbour,because they are busy in their own activities.They have no time for chatting with their neighbours.But they live religiously .
The heart of the city is the president palace and Monas in the centre of a field in front of the palace.This monas (national monu
ment) is a tall 45 m high,17 levels and 8 squares as the symbol of Indonesian independence.It has a gold fire flames.
Most of government offices lie around the president palace.
Jakarta has a big harbour called Tanjung Priok in the North of Jakarta.This city is governed by governor as a special provincial city..The city has a big meseum too..In the soutehern part of Jakarta we have a miniature of Indonesian island cultures, for every province we have the example of its special traditional building/house ..We have 32 provincesWe have also an international airport called Sukarno Hatta.We can reach it by the toll road..
