I am looking at buying the inspiron 6400 and upgrading to a 100gb hard drive runing at 7200rpm, is this laptop hard drive reliable? Who manufactures it? I was also considering buying a HP laptop. I would appreciate any help out there
Thank you

yeah, 100 gigs @ 7200 rpm is fine.. its very reliable.. seagate would be one of the best.
I think desktops have come out with 10000 rpm as well

I'd personally recommend an HP dv 6000t or 6000z (depending on whether u r inclined towards AMD or Intel)
its almost the same in terms of output and atleast a 100 - 150 bucks easler on the pocket.. leaving you with that little extra for your video / graphics card
