Eris, the goddess of chaos, is my favorite one. I love the story about the golden apple and how it started the Trojan war. Just wonderful.

One of my favorites is ZEUS-chief of gods. I was only thrilled how he managed to have children to every woman he fell in love with. Like what he did to LEDA, he turned himself into a swan just to claim this queen.
Second is RHEA, the wife of KRONOS, and mother of Zeus. I admire her love for her children. There was a prophecy that Kronos will be overthrown by one of his children so he tried to eat all of them but Rhea kept her son-Zeus who turned out to be the god who castrated his father.
My third favorite is APOLLO-the sun god. he is very famous for his prophecies. he is also a great archer.
I have lots of favorites among these Greek mythological characters because each of them has its own characteristic which contributed an exciting twist in this Greek mythology.

Athena - strong, smart and beautiful. Great role model for young women.
I rather prefer the Greek Gods and Goddesses rather than the current Abrahamaic deities because they have human failings that I can identify with and yet they are still beings greater than humans, which makes them fascinating.
Also.....they are an equal opportunity employer - they have male and female deities as well as those with homosexual tendencies.....(see the story of Zeus and Ganymede)

Pegasus,is my favorite. It was a winged horse that was the child of Poseidon and the Gorgon Medusa, despite both of them being human in shape. Descriptions vary as to its birth, some say that it sprung from Medusa's neck as Perseus beheaded her, which fits in with his parentage; others say that he was born of the earth as Medusa's blood spilled onto it, in which case Poseidon would not be his father. The word Pegasus is derived from the Greek for the word spring.
Unicorns have always held some sort of mystery and promise of untold adventures. I have fancied them since I was a child. My first rememberances of them come from storybooks read to me

Hermes messenger of gods and very clever god.
Fates , the 3 goddesses of destiny. Not even Zues and the other gods can go against their decisions, against destiny.

I like Vulcan because he is a cripple but he's cool because he's the ultimate blacksmith. He's also the god of volcanoes.

They are not always charcters, they can become reality if you let them.
Prometheus lives within me, Athena walks beside me, and Thanatos lives in my shadow.

They are so fun - much better than the boring god of the Abraham relighions (Jewish, Chistian, Islam). I couldn't choose just one.
