The show isn't going off the air any time soon. (At least not that the general public knows.) Luke and Lorelai aren't back together yet, but it looks like in the next month or so, something may happen.

I watched it tonight, and no they didn't get together. They met up at Lane's baby shower and had a small chat, but nothing significant.
