True Happiness, as opposed to False Happiness:
An emotionally gratifying moment in time, such as:
Someone has touched your heart, you know you are loved, and appreciated just as you are.
You note beauty in a simple thing and that floods your mind with memories of like moments.

There is psychological explanation that comes from genes. I think it is the pyramid of needs. When you have satisfied all of them you are happy. And it is always from the bottom to the top. You must satisfy the bottom ones before an upper level. The levels are like this from bottom to top...that means from the highest priority to the lowest:
1. Physiological needs (eating, sleeping etc.)
2. Safety needs (the feeling of being safe to survive in this world)
3. Belonging needs (it is like belonging to the pack in the animals, family, society...and other groups)
4. Esteem needs (after belonging to that pack you wish to be the pack leader)
5. Self actualization needs (this is the manifestation of creation and evolution...you want to evolve to a higher level of knowledge that can help you're pack for next generations)
Now the relative thing here is that group. Every person has an important group to belong to. For some is just the family, for some is a social group, for other is the company where they work...for others is the whole world (ex politicians). So you can be happy if you have satisfied these needs in the specific group that you like and are linked to.

In my opinion, there is no TRUE happiness; just things that make me happy: my boyfriend, my hobbies, spending time with people that care for me, as I do for them, music, and writing. The feeling of happy comes from hormones in the body, a chemical reaction. Asking what the ideal of true happiness is is like asking what turns them on. There is no real definite answer, in the sense that everyone has different things that make them happy, but there is ALWAYS something.

There are four phases in life. People in the 4th phase are happiest one.
1: Nobody knows you: When you are in childhood. Apart from your family and friends nobody knows you. This is the phase where you want attention of others. And you do your level best to get people's attention.
2: You know abt urself: This is the phase when you are growing and you think that you are right. Lets take an example: suppose you get rejected in an interview. You will either think that i dint deserve the rejection. If I go somewhere else I will get selected. What he (employer) know abt my caliber. Or you will feel i should work harder to get the job and next time you will suceed. In both the cases employer doesn't know you that you can make it possible. But you know yourself.
3: People know you: You are in job and best performer. When you enter office everyone says hello. And you feel proud that everybody knows you. You are not bother to think whether you know yourself or not. You are on the top of world because everyone gives u attention.
4:You are the only one who knows yourself completely: This is the phase where you get happiness. Knowing yourself doesn't mean just thinking that you know abt urself. Rather it means you know +ve and -ve qualities what you have and accept them. The moment you realise that what I did was wrong you will try to ractify it. This is the phase which makes you more confident and optimistic. This is the phase where you take life as challenge...... this is the phase which gives you courage to take tough decisions. Because you are not running behind attention. You are running behind success and happiness. In nut shell this is the phase where you are honest to yourself.
In older days people use to go to Himalayas to do meditation......to know themselves......Now a days you cant expect someone to do that. That is why definition of 4th phase has been changed. There are people who die without knowing the 4th phase..........rather die without knowing themselves. Lets all of us enter in the 4th phase. Starting is very easy. Just give yourself 15mins on the bed b4 going in the worls of dreams. And think about the whole day, each and every moment tht you spent. The moment you realise what i did was wrong, re-think, be honest with you. Make sure you dont do that again.............Its not easy guys. I took 2 years to know myself. And still I am in the process of knowing myself. Trust me more you know abt urself more satisfied and happy are you.

It's those moments that sneak up on you, when all seems well with the world and you feel good with who you are and what you are doing. They come and go, and once we identify what conditions surround these moments we can do more to insure they return. Increase positive emotions and let the happy moments in.
