My husband and daughter are planning on a vist to lebanon in about 2 weeks. my in-laws are very happy that they are coming, so i think im getting a biased view on the current situation from them.

Can someone (preferably living in lebanon) tell me how the current political situation is? how dangerous is it in reality?

they will be staying in the south a majority of the time.

thanks in advance!

Well the situation is unstable in Lebanon, tension is everywhere.
Nevertheless one can go and spend 2 weeks in Lebanon, specially that the South is calm and UN troops are there.
Everybody is expecting status-quo until end of March...

Don't worry everything here is fine but the media makes a big deal out of it. Also the security and police are everywhere so nothing bad can possibly happen.

Relax!

The situation is stable for the time being. There is nothing to worry about (again at the time being). Nobody can predict the future, especially in Lebanon.

Thanks

I'm flying out this weekend. Will let you know about the atmosphere when I get back, but to be honest, I would avoid the south if I were you
