A Chinese keyboard? That is such an interesting question!
There's no such thing as a Chinese keyboard. It's excatly the same as the one you're using. Yes we have countless characters but we have this Chinese typing software that makes typing Chinese very easy. I can type Chinese as fast as I type English(like 60 words a min)

As for what lkraie said about strokes, it still uses the same keyboard. Not many people use strokes nowadays though because it's complicated. Most poeple use "pinyin" which are Chinese phonetics and look the same as English letters.
Pinyin is way easier to use to type but if one is skillful with strokes that can be insanely fast!

Like a normal "qwerty" key board with extra chinese strokes printed. Same number of keys.

10,000 plus characters but a limited set of strokes to form each character. Just like how English has 26 alphabets but over a million words. The strokes that are used to form each chinese word, form the "Chinese Alphabet", so technically it's not the characters formed that make up the alphabet but the strokes that the characters consist of. For example, 扑,仆,朴, 木, have common strokes. "一" consists of 1 single stroke while "十"
consists of 2 strokes. The words themself do not form part of the alphabet but the strokes do.

You can simply use the normal keyboard with a "Han Yu Pin Ying" program to convert phonics into mandarin words. eg. Wo Ai Ni is the Han Yu Pin Ying of 我爱你.

Chinese is a language based in another ancient root not Roman; words are formed by componental words as graffiti or formed by phonetics and Chinese keyboard arranges the same as English keyboard.

The keyboard is the same.
use "pinyin" by the pronunciation of the word.
use strokes by the configuration of the word.
we can type english and chinese without any extra work.
