there are people achieving the american dream every week.
I would say laziness would lead up to the impossibility of the american dream. but if you work hard there is a chance, which is a lot more than you can get in many countries. that is why we have so much immigration legal and less than, just for the chance.

The main factor leading up to achieving a certain dream is the person himself. It all depends on the person\individual's perseverance and willingness to do what it takes to reach that goal.
