As I see our world get more and more intensified these days, I wonder if it's not the world that has all the problems... Maybe we have the problems.
I'm not trying to bash our system, because I LOVE THE CONSTITUTION. I just think that when the times are changing, maybe we should go with them. I don't think our voices are being heard enough, and maybe we should change that.
Your opinions, or ideas??

We have to make people accountable for their actions.
Republicans and democrats alike.
Most people on here are too consumed with being republican or dem, that they forget the real issues. Lives and money are being mis managed,
But no one is being held accountable for falsifying information, for not managing billions of dollars that got up and left a ship that was sent to IRAQ.
Who does that? sends 12 billion dollars in cash with no accountability, no plan for oversight?
Part of the responsiblity is that people arent reall aquinted with the facts of most things. They see it on t.v. and take it for granted.
Heck, if fox news did some quality reporting I would watch them.
If its CNN, Ill want to watch them.
Most people cant see past the B.S. that people are tossing around, so they just take the side of their favorite personality.
Im all for MSNBC and their programming, but if after this next election, they start defending the democratic president and administration I will definitely turn on them, and sek out the truth of the issues and the elected if they arent meeting with their promises or trying to hide things.
So people, wake up.
Inform yourself
hold your elected officials accountbale if they make mistakes
and inform yourself of the truth.
Im very very surprised at how many people cant intellectually argue the issues on here.
but everyone still wants to sound liek they know what theyre talking about.
So its part elected officials for not meeting up with their promises and a high level of service for their constituents, and its also the constituents for allowing them to get away with not serving them properly.
Case in point, Republicans have pre-spoken that they will filibuster all efforts democrats make to try and limit or question the presidents ability.
That right there shows their own stubbornness. Instead of taking the proposal and working with it, they plan toblock it already.
Thats not diplomacy. That creates arguement instead of solves problems and leads ot peace.
So, look closely. If youre representative is hard minded and not looking out for the best interest of our government, -- GIVEN ALL THE FACTS -- then you make him accountable for his positions.

We "re-evaluate" our system of government every two years by holding elections for congressional & seats & every four years to elect a president and vice-president. I think the system works well, as well as the majority of the electorate so chooses. At times, mistakes are made. The main focus should be on getting more citizens of voting age to participate in elections. I'd even consider holding a two-day voting period or even making a single day a holiday just for elections. I believe the caucus and primary system to reach the nominations work well, especially now that there are more debates and "town hall" type meetings with the candidates. Having an 18-24 month campaign for president is sufficient. I would think about extending congressional terms to 4 years because as soon as a representative is elected, they start a month later on their reelection campaigns.

Yes! That's one of the reasons the Founding Fathers put a mechanism in the Constitution to revise it. They, unlike some of our current moronic, so-called leaders, recognized that the world was not static, and that change was sometimes necessary. If we wanted to do so, we could even scrap the Constitution altogether and promulgate an entirely new guiding document. And I have no doubt that someday that will be necessary. Perhaps sooner than we think.

I think the problem is that there are too many uneducated people who whine and protest a lot, which give a big obstacle for the constituation to carry out...
another problem is that right now, most politician are working on "how to keep their job" instead of "how to do their job".
be honest, i am kinda satisfy at the structure right now, because i really have no qualification to give comment, i am quite sure even tho Bush is terrible in a sense, but who atually can do better than him?? can we guarantee there is no 2nd Bush even tho we vote him out of office??

I think too many people whine these days, expecting the government to 'mother' every aspect of their lives so that they can blame someone else whena problem does indeed arise.

there is only two things wrong with out system.
first, not enough people give a darn about who runs the political structure.
second, the elected people don't serve for us, but for those who bought them their office.
