I went thru this with my mom too! She kept telling me what to do with MY baby and it annoyed me so much. Just back off a little and let her learn things for herself. She's going thru wanting to be the mommy on her own and wanting to know she can do it on her own. Beleive me, everything my mom did, I would try to do the opposite just because I wanted to experience things and do things on my own.
When it came down to it, I NEEDED my mom! She was always right with everything she said to me over and over again. I finally realized that and so will your daughter.
Hang in there. Things will get better once she goes thru some of it on her own.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Don't buy anything until she has tried the pampers. Each baby reacts differently to different types of diapers. Of my 4 children only 1 of them was able to wear Huggies. 1 wore pampers and the other 2 could only wear the walmart brand. Everything else left rashes so bad they screamed when the pottied in them. Wait until she tries something then buy what works best.

Honestly, I wouldn't go overboard buying diapers at first, because you never know how the baby is going to react. I used Huggies with my son, and every time he would pee right through them. The next diaper I tried was Luvs, and those made him break out. I finally tried the Pampers Swaddlers, and those were amazing.
Maybe just hold off and see what works best first, before buying a certain brand.

Being a grand-mother is a wonderful thing and what difference does it makes really what kind of diapers will be used on your grand, child? as long as the baby is comfortable and happy. Your children may have had negative reactions with pampers, but it does not mean your dear little angel will dear Heart. If there is a negative reaction with pampers, it's never too late to switch to huggies. Please try to be the loving mother you've always have been, and cut some loose to your daughter. After all, it's a great moment in her life as it was in yours ! Sorry I can't help about this but only suggest wisdom on your part. A grand'mother is very precious in the life of a child, and wouldn't it be better if you all went with the flow... so to speak ?LOL. I'm retired now but I do remember my two grand-mothers and still love them long after they passed to the spirit world. Why?... Because they were so understanding! And loving! Just as you probably are!
Congratulations to you and your family for this new little angel who's coming to bring joy and happiness in your lives!
GBY you all.

I have had 2 children and never used any diaper other than Pampers. Never had a problem with them. Now I did use the Huggies baby wipes. I liked them better. Maybe you can compromise on that.

It realy needs to be up to the mother!! This is her first baby. She is so excited, Im sure. She is probably wanting to pick out everything. Its fun, you know that. I thik the huggies give a damp feeling through the clothes if they are not changed everytime they pee. The way diapers are made these days the baby can pee several times before needing to be changed. I use pampers so I say PAMPERS!

OK, i know exactly what your talking abou. Even though i am just a young mother presently, i took care of both my two cousins when they was babies. My aunt used huggies and everytime the babies used the bathroom they would leak and the gel in them would fall out. I refused to use those or luvs because of that. But even though you used to use them on your kids, they improve things all the time. I actually use huggies now. So dont take it personally if she wants to use a certain brand. They could be better today. And if not, she will find out and can easily switch brands

Actually you need to swallow your pride a bit and compromise. Buy both, keep the pampers on the side just incase, give her the Huggies. We have to remember that the father of the baby figures in here too, and his mum may not have had the same problem.
Congratulations by the way.

Pampers without a doubt! Huggies are cheaper and sometimes they perform really cheap. I use them for the day sometimes and when the baby has wet stools, they dont perform. I would never used them in that instance, at night or when going out.

I used pampers swaddlers and continued using pampers. My daughter is now using pampers cruisers I love them. I have never had a problem at all with them. At the hospital that is all that they used for newborns pampers swaddlers I guess that is why I still used them. If your daughter wants to use pampers just let her and respect her opinion. You are suppose to be supportive not harassing her on her diaper choices. Buy pampers. Make life a little easier for your daughter
