I'm not sure. My parents and their generation seem so simple. They seem carefree. It's like they can compromise and they seem pretty content, although they work hard. I, on the other hand, probably have been spoiled rotten. I wouldn't be happy taking care of 6 kids or being savy. I wouldn't even want kids. I'll have a career and have less responsibility, yet, I don't think I can be as happy as my parents because I never seem to get enough of the things I want. Having things my way.
Despite that though, future generation would probably be more satisfied with my life because their generation is closer to mine than my parents. Can you imagine living in the 60's when technology was limited?

There's a 'Generation Gap' between me and my parents. I can't even think of comparing or contrasting our views towards life. I think we've got so much in common and a lot of things on which we clash.
The way I live will be satisfying to the generation upcoming, but again there will be a generation gap, what we think will be 'history' in future. My is-to-be-born-son's life style will be totally different from mine but still he'll learn a lot from me, like I've learnt from my parents.

My parents grew up in the Great Depression and did not have any material comforts. Nor did they have all the mechanical labor saving devices we have now. They had to work hard just to make ends meeet. However, as time went by, they did have financial security, owned their own home etc.
These days, we are fortunate to have time savings machines (e.g. microwave, washing machines etc.) and of course we can read any topic we want or research anything we want at the touch of a finger with the computer.
I hope future generations will not have to work and suffer to survive nor do I wish future generations to have so many distractions that they forget what's real -- life, love, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I hope they find a way to save the planet, do meaningful work, be more spiritual and less materialistic and preserve our democracy.

I think I live a shadow life of my parents. My mom is very loving and caring and always worried about everything, and it always seemed like she had the worst luck when really it wasn't all that bad. I am exactly the same. My dad is very quiet and is very strong emotionally, I again am the same. I feel like I learned from there mistakes and carry with me through my life. I think my children will be able to carry along the same good and unfortunately bad/annoying habits of me and also hopefully learn from my mistakes and live a better life.

They had more concern for wealth, but I was taught that money did not bring you happiness. I didn't worry about wealth, but I got older and now I could use a loan!
