Marine Never Knew What Freedom Was Until He Left The Marines: 27 Feb 07......
MADISON, WI—Troy Leffler, who spent four long years living under an oppressive, totalitarian Marine Corps regime, never knew how precious freedom was until he left the Marines, the former Private-First Class (PFC) said Sunday.

"The freedom to go wherever you want, do whatever you like, and say whatever you feel is what makes America great," the 22-year-old Leffler told friends at a backyard barbecue Sunday. "And it's something I really learned to appreciate after four godforsaken years in the military."

As a Marine I am offended by this s--bird. Four years in the Corps and only a PFC? It leads me to believe he got into trouble somewhere during his four years, he should at least be a Corporal. What did this guy expect? Nothing but a loser.

Two facts ( madison, wi - cradle of liberalism ) and four years in the Marines and only a PFC ( must have been a malcontent, or a do nothing ) show that the loss of this person as a Marine was no great loss. It actually underlines the tolerance of the Marines that they didn't throw him out.

That's nice that he served, but I'm sure his senior officers and friends that had the nuts to stay and help after seeing that they were indeed needed are thrilled to hear him acting as if his sacrifice were better. Funny, he didn't thank his fellow Marines who are still serving in his speech about how wonderful it is to be a free American. I know firsthand that the military is not fun. But to only be a private first class after four years? Hm, sounds like he was working hard at hardly working. Thanks for being a true soldier.

I'm with senator.

No loss to the corp, that's for sure. No pride, no nothing. My only question is how did a baby like that survive four year in any service, let alone the Marines.

If you had left this country just once you would know what he was talking about. Nothing compares to the USA. Nothing!

He know that he was part of fighting a 'War' that shouldn't exist. Good for him. I'd be proud, too. That's really the only good thing America has to offer. He forgot to mention it takes money to do all those things though...
