My ex-BF is having a birthday party Friday. He refused my gift offer and said all he wants is my company. It is important for me to respect people's wishes. If I said I did not want a gift, I would mean exactly that. What about you all?

BooBoo, you type so very well for a cat. Perhaps, you can ask your Daddy what he wants for his birthday. Send my regards to BeeBee.

When I say that I mean it,and I'm sure most others do also, but I always feel the need to give anyway especially when it's someone I know very well.I usually just bring them a bottle of their liquor/wine of choice, since it is a party it's going to be put to use!!

I would mean I want you to have sex with me if I were him and I said all I wanted was your company, unless you actually own a company, and then that might be confusing because I do like my mergers and acquisitions as well as my hostile takeovers. Perhaps you should just give him a watch to remember the time you spent together before you wind up giving him a calendar to remember your anniversaries.

I would never go to any party empty handed. I think most people say no gifts please. They want you to know that it's," You " they want to see, not the gift. He is just being nice. If it was me I would be nice too and show up with something. Even if it was just a cake that I baked for him or some wine.

I say it but I know myself well enough to know that if they didn't get me anything even if I said I didn't want anything I'd feel bad. I mean, come on it's a birthday gift. Just give him one after his birthday and say it's a "just because" gift.

I'll always say no to a gift offer. Is not that I wouldn't like or appreciate a gift, specially if it comes from someone who I care about, that is just how i answer that question (I've always have). So don't stress about this, I'm sure that whatever you decide to do is fine. trust me ;)

paying for people high priced presents does not recommend love. in case you like somebody and that they return your love the appropriate element you may desire to ever supply them is your self. no longer cloth products. Of each and all the presents my husband could desire to furnish to me the Most worthy one so a good distance as i'm worried is a photograph that he had drawn for me himself or between the products of fixtures that he has made for me

WHAT???!!!! u'd never catch me alive saying those words.. i love gifts - especially when its not even my birthday, christmas, valentines etc etc etc...

i will always hint at what i want, but still even if i get something else, i always believe its the thought that counts.. so yeah i'd never say i dont want a gift when i want it..

i dont really mean it .. hehe..
but, if i say that, that means i dont expect an expensive or big gift, its ok to give me a small gift.. but at least its from the heart
if my bf says that, i will love him more and more!! and at least, ill give him a kiss and small gife like card or teddy bear..

I'd respect your wishes.
As for me, some people think I'm already gifted.
