Honesty is good and sometimes beautiful lies are better too for the everyone's happiness. Common example : How do I look today?hee hee...
I dont encourage beautiful lies for Law & Order because words can destroy or kill a person's future and their life. That is why a court alway make sure everyone to say it out and clear "Speak for the truth but nothing but for the truth." to stand for a trial hehe ...and sometimes we still tell a lie haha...
Anyway, I have learned a very expensive lesson about my honesty which it had cost me away a fortune millions dollars. So use honesty wisely otherwise u may break your rice bowl unknownly . A lesson of my life about honesty. hee hee. It's my life! Hoo hoo ah....hehe

Because being honest now adays is todattly unacepptible. But There is a line is a song by Van Zandt that said "it's better to be hated for how you are than loved for who you aren't" I totally agree

it gives them a weird sense of satisfaction-seeing others happy...smtimes its their way of asking forgiveness for the sins they h ave done..they feel tht making ppl happy will help them attain moksh(self actualization, forgivness). Also culd be that ppl like helping others watever the way of their helping is...
