my monitor gives me a black screen when i switch the pc on?

when i switch my pc on, my windows doesnt start! instead i get a black screen, why? my montior is fine i guess its a hard disk problem! please help.

its not a hard disk problem,check your ram,read all memory. if you have no ram or its no good you wont get anything from your monitor. hope this helps.
