When I ask most people they say it's because it's illegal, but people break laws all the time. The next and final reason they give is they can't or they don't. I fail to see how that could hold up to logic.

So logically speaking, why should a person not smoke pot?

Marijuana does not cause cancer. Compared to cigarettes, i can not understand why it is illegal. Cigarettes are much more harmful than pot. Nicotine in cigarettes make the carcinogens more damaging while THC actually inhibits carcinogens. If anything cigarettes should be made illegal. I smoked both and i quit cigarettes my lungs cleared up and i never coughed Even while still smoking same amount of herb. I eventually started smoking cigarettes again after not using herbs (Marijuana) And coughing and weezing came back due to cigarettes. So anyone who bashes Marijuana has not ever really looked at the long term effects, which are minimal. And i guarantee anyone who has used Marijuana regularly doesn't have any real health complains.

By the way i live a very productive life and it has not effected my performance in anyway. If i were to name names i know quite a few people in high society that are very deep closet smokers. Another study done shows that 1-7 persons in America smoke on the regular that is 42million for those people with out a calculator. It was made illegal because of a lobbyist in congress in 1930's That lobbyist owned the largest paper mill in America and he forsaw hemp to take over his businesses. He used race and ethnicity to scare people into viewing marijuana to be something only Sailors and jazz players used. It became a properganda war. I can also name at least 30 persons with cancer who use Marijuana to maintain a livable life. Move to west coast if you like herbal vapors!!!

I was a heavy smoker for a while. I first tried it when i was 15 and did it occasionally (once a month if that) but became addicted as time went on.It's side effect eventually began to catch up with me.I became forgetful, irritable and short tempered, i stopped dreaming, i had no appetite and also became anti-social.In the end it was all i could think about when i wasn't stoned it was simply because i was short on cash, and in those times when i hadn't had a smoke in a day or two i was even worse my behaviour was unacceptable i treated people around me like ****.People that i love and care about. It took me a long time to realise what i was doing, or maybe i just didn't want to admit it.I was happy doing what i was doing and that was all that matter. So my advice to you is (don't worry I'm not going to preach) that if you smoke pot be very careful and in tune with what your doing, don't let it consume your life.

Because the dealers here are mixing it with CRYSTAL METH to make it addictive. Kids here in BC, Canada, are showing up in emergency rooms with crystal meth psychosis when all they've done is "..smoked a dubie"

Unless you've grown it yourself, you don't know what crap is being put into it or the conditions under which is was grown.

Pot is illegal. It is grown in secret. We have a big problem with Grow-ops here in BC. People rent houses or apartments and turn them into indoor growing operations. Basically, they fill up 20 gallon buckets with dirt and plant seeds. They hook up big grow lights to the ceiling and leave them on all the time. They either live on the premises or come back to "groom" and water the plants or set up a hydroponic system with a constant water flow.

They have no pesticide regulations to follow, so chances are, they are spraying cheap, deadly products like Raid onto the plants to get rid of the pests that they attract. Then, they harvest the plants, dry them out as quick as they can and package them up as quick as they can. This whole process is not exactly done under sanitary conditions. Your weed can contain any number of contaminants like mouse droppings, dead bugs, and toxic mold from the humidity. Some of these grow-ops have to be gutted and rebuilt because of the black mold issues after the grow ops are gone. Oh yeah, there's a little thing called the "hanta virus", it's the North American ebola. You get it from infected mouse droppings, need I say more.....

A few years ago, we had a "bad" batch of weed that had some unidentified chemical in it that killed two or three kids.

Health issues alone should keep you from smoking pot when you can't verify the sanitation of it's manufacture process.

Don't even start me on the hepititis issues surronding the personal hygiene of the people who process this stuff. Yeah, maybe they washed their hands, maybe they didn't. There's no one to call them on that.

I personally don't smoke pot ( but I did try it, twice) because, guess what, I fought for a long time to have control of my own life. I will not GIVE CONTROL of my life to a mind altering drug.

My money is better spent on achieving my life dreams, not having them go up in smoke and playing the game of what could have been.

About 75% of the time it leads to other drugs. More addicting drugs. It can and most of the time does....Nothing for you except make you lazy. Also when you talk you will sound like your speech is vERY SLOW. There's lots of things wrong with smoking pot. Get a book about the positive and the negs/ You'll find that you'll have hardly anything good to say about it. It also stinks. Why do you think most people burn candles or incense when smoking it. Not to mention it can cause lung cancer. I know....My husband died from that disease. and all he did was smoke pot.

Look, the simple answer is if you like to smoke then go right ahead, and if you don't like it then don't. I have smoked pot in the past and when i got older i left it behind, but i have nothing bad to say about pot, i smoked it, i liked it, i don't see people who smoke pot as bad people. If you do it in moderation then you will be fine, but the ones with a problem smoke to much and don't handle there business.

There is no reason, other than its against the law. I'm all for it being legalized. Its far FAR safer than alcohol.....but this is a dumb world we live in. People think that pot makes you an unsafe driver. No, it doesn't. It makes everything in the world slooooow.......so you react slow. You drive slow. Unlike drunks, who are all over the road.
Potheads just sit at home and smoke.........they don't harm anyone. Drunks on the other hand....well, you get the picture.

It's a personal choice.
Alcohol is legal but not everybody drinks...cigarettes are also legal but not everybody smokes either...
You can choose NOT to smoke pot and, in my personal opinion, be better for it.
Besides the fact that it is illegal ( and just because people break laws doesn't mean that it's right to do so), pot makes you slow, lazy, hungry and just plain useless. Period.

It will not give you any material gain but will make useless to our society. The purpose of the government for not allowing ;you smoke this thing is for your own welfare and safety in life, also good for your health and body including your normal thinking.

It clogs up your lungs. The resin isn't water soluable. It's like breathing glue. Moderation is the key if you want to enjoy it and not have health problems. It does have many good qualities though. Pain relief, appetite stimulant, euphoric and others.
