I heard there are beach volleyball, soccer, tennis, racquetball, etc clubs/leagues you can join in chicago...how do I go about doing this??? Any sites in particular or places I need to go to sign up...thanks!

The best group is Chicago Sport and Social Club. You can sign up a team or as an individual. All sorts of leagues, days, and locations. Also, they plan social stuff.
