I'd say that it's very unlikely Square Enix will want to create a movie based on the storyline from FFVIII. Part of the reason they wanted to do FF7: Advent Children was because Final Fantasy VII was so wildly popular and Square hoped to make some more money off of one of its most prized cash cows. FFVIII received mixed reviews and is not seen as a particularly great RPG, so the chances for a movie of it are pretty slim.

depends, ff7 is the best FF on PS1 (no offense)
in other words, if ff8 is still on demand, then they would probably make one, but I doubt it.
