In the last episodes, Nakago is able to appear in the real world (due to the connection he had with yui from the earring he gave her and one he had). Miaka desperatly tries to convince yui about how she was decieved and that the beast god would consume her if she continued to make a wish, and yui already starts to develop dragon scales all over her body due to the beast god devouring her body. Nakago appears before Yui and demands for his wish (Yui's last wish). Tamahome is the only warrior who was able to go to Miakas world at that time when he grabbed her when Yui wished Miaka and herself to be brought back to their own world. Nakago and Tamahome begin to fight but Tamahome is overpowered by Nakago's power. By the time Miaka reaches the fight scene Tamahome is about dead and Nakago now goes to attack Miaka and tells Yui he will kill her friend if she dosen't give his wish to become a God. When Keisuke arrives he calls into the book and asks the only surviving warriors Chichiri and Tasuke to find Miakas backpack she left there and come to his world. They are able to come. Tamahome is basically beween life and death and dreams of marrying Miaka and everyone even his family and Nuriko are there, but his father tells him to realize who is calling out to him and comes back. Yui decides to make her final wish and summons Seiryuu to the real world and makes her wish, to unbreak the seal on Suzaku so miaka can make her wish. When miaka realises this and that Yui was devoured by Seiryuu in the last wish her first wish is to bring Yui back. Now with their power back the warriors can fight Nakago but hes still too strong. The deceased warriors Nuriko, Hotohori, Chiriko, and Mitsukake appear and they all give their power to Tamahome. Miaka uses her second wish to seal Seiryuu and with all the power Tamahome is able to kill Nakago. At that point it's revealed that Nakago was discriminated against because of his tribe and while his mother was being raped he killed his mom and the man with his power and was brought to the capital where it seems the king did stuff to him. He vowed from then on to gain power. After this it's revealed that the warriors used Nyan Nyan bodies to appear in the world. Miaka makes her final wish to return the real world back to normal since so much damage was done to it. Because it was a selfish wish, Taiitsukun reveals that she is Suzaku-seikun and says because of that wish she fufilled her role as priestess of suzaku and then all the warriors start to dissapear to go back into the book world, she embrases Tamahome till he dissapears. She goes back to studying and gets into Jounan highschool, while Yui dosent. A little later her brother tells her there is someone she should meet a guy who has dreams about a past life about being a warrior and protecting a priestess and when Miaka looks up, its Tamahome and the TV series ends.

The story continues on into the OVAs where it's revealed that Tamahome actually has all his memories but then there starts to be problems since he is a link to the book world and they have to go back in. It basically ends saying that in order for Tamahome to be reincarnated in Miakas world he has to loose all his memories and he chooses this. The 2nd ova they have to go back into the book and retrieve tamahomes memory shards or he would dissapear , but he is now known as Taka, whome miaka has fell in love with but has no memories of being Tamahome. The evil ones are manipulated by the man who taught Nakago and who wishes to take over the real world. In the end Miaka is able to summon Suzaku again and destory him. At the very on of this series Miaka and Taka are married and have a baby.

The final installment of the curious play is the last ova which was not based on the original story and was made up by a novelist. It basically has another girl who is brought into the book and the idea that the universe of the four goes is going crazy since it's purpose has been fufulled. Miaka becomes unconsious and Taka has to go in to save her. The shinzaho in this ends up being their baby and they are able to defeat the fake beast gods. And in this version the deseased warriors are able to be reincarnated and Miaka is saved.

What the others said, plus if you watch the OAVs, which are continuations of the anime, you're in for a few surprises (like omg Tasuki kisses Miaka wtf)

In the first OAV, Miaka's last wish was for her and Tamahome to be together forever. Encouraged by her warriors and by Taiitsukun, Miaka hoped that her heart's desire would be granted. A month later, after her middle school graduation, Miaka's older brother Keisuke introduced her to a new classmate of his, Taka Sukunami. Taka remembered a past life when he was one of seven destined to protect a young girl who would save their world from destruction. He remembered that he was once called Tamahome, but he didn't remember any particular details about his former life. During a class field trip to the Takamatsuzuka Burial Mound in Nara, Suzaku reached out to Miaka to aid him on a quest. A Demon God was threatening the Universe of the Four Gods and her world, and Miaka was once again needed to save the world. Tamahome is now and forever will be owned by Hinata Inuzuka. A later encounter with Suzaku gives Miaka even more answers as to the origins of Taka. The love between Miaka and Taka was a strong source of Suzaku's powers, and because of their strong love, Suzaku was able to create a version of Tamahome to exist in the real world. However, the Demon God (later revealed to be Tenkō) realized that Suzaku's powers were weak in the real world (attributed to the fact that the southern wall of the Takamatsuzuka Burial Mound was destroyed by grave robbers) and was attempting to ursurp the powers of heaven and destroy everything. Suzaku charged Miaka with the quest of retrieving seven stones (one which had already been recovered) which contained Tamahome's memories, and so Taka and Miaka went to the Universe of the Four Gods to look for the stones, and there they encountered Chichiri and Tasuki (who is another character who falls under Miaka's spell omg First Nuriko who's supposed to be gay and now him??) When Tamahome's memories were placed back into Taka, Suzaku's powers would be restored and Tenkō could be sealed away once more.

On the last OAV, Miaka's pregnant and falls under a coma, and some ***** classmate of hers is responsible. The classmate (I forgot her name) is in love with Taka, and so she found a way to go to the Universe of the Four Gods, where Hotohori's son is the emperor, and steal Miaka's baby (somehow) and they think the girl is the new priestess. Taka goes to the universe of the four gods to talk some sense to the girl and do whatever it takes for Miaka to wake up, and he goes on a quest to search for the reincarnated Suzaku warriors who are all kids who don't have their memories(except Chichiri and Tasuki, who are indeed alive). So at the end, the warriors reunite (Nuriko is reincarnated into a girl, finally, and she's friends with Hotohori~!), the Suzaku warrior's spirits appear, Hotohori meets his son, who has an uncanny resemblance to him (and the empress is like a female Nuriko). And get this, Hotohori used to have a twin brother who was in love with the empress before she went to the palace, they fought and Hotohori killed him unintentionally.
So stupid girl finally gets her senses, everything ends up okay and Miaka wakes up. And happily ever after.

*spoilers*
miaka was able to summon suzaku with the help of the suzaku 7 (nyan nyan let the warriors use their bodies, something like possing but not quite), after defeating nakago when he came to miaka's world she used her last wish to make the world in order again, so she says goodbye to tamahome. later on tamahome was reincarnated to live in miaka's world and they lived happily ever after.

Reading the reserve instead of viewing the movie is the ultimate way to see what the writer intended. Reading uses your imagination, hones your reading skills, and can transform your vocabulary
