you already have some great ideas here.... to add to it:
traditions are a very good thing.... if you knew me?you would know how odd that sounds... I am and always have been for blazing my own little trail.... and not following any "traditions" but... family ones... well... those are what makes a family it's own little trail-blazer.... shows the members, the world that you are doing it your way.....
I say this cause your husband's family is an "extension" as is the family you have known and loved your whole life... your Family is your husband.... and the baby you carry.... so any family traditions set forth by the extensions, should be kept... but meddled.... "the big melting pot" takes on a whole new meaning here, from the USA one.... same thing though really..... your values, ideas, his... together as one..... so.... what are the ones for names in your family?
if none at all.... you might look into the past few generations... are there any "family names" like in my family..... there is George, Theodore, Robert.... very old names...... hundreds of years in the family... not every generation has had a senior, junior.... but they have always been there.... middle name or first.....
so the ideas of Oscarmoving to the middle is not so far fetched with that... but,it is what do you and your husband think? you did not say in your question if your husband is for, against... neutral... open to any changes even?
if it is one of those things where he has always wanted... is set on an Oscar to carry on but not a jr.;
I liked the ideas too of the Oscar with a "V" name in the middle....
or you could try;
I do not know the heritage you each carry and gift to your baby...but if you look into the past of his lines... and yours... maybe you would find a name or even a word in that language that "fits" the tradition... fits you and your family..... ?
there are a bunch of good ones I saw that people posted here,some do not seem to "flow" so easily... and then there always is the initials thing.... that one "OJ" popped out at me too.... the variations and possibilities are well, there are a lot.....
for actual name suggestions.. I have none.... liked a lot of the ideas; bringing both families together was the best.. with either your father's name, one of your grandfather's... or even great-grandfathers'? how much do you know about any of them? or how far back this Oscar name goes?? and the middle names to go with them.... a great time and way to get some family history to preserve for your son or daughter is to maybe start with some info and stories of the people who helped to make that little one in you... grand-greatgrand parents......
hope this gives you some good ideas for forging your own little trail..... and finding a name that fits and suits not just your son.. but his father... and the family there

Well you could do Oscar Liberato Rodriguez. Here are a few other ideas:
Oscar Damarion Rodriguez
Oscar Jerome Rodriguez
Oscar Lewis Rodriguez
Oscar Isaiah Rodriguez
You could also just use Oscar as a middle name and start a new tradition.
