His veteran Knowledge will be more important than his game. I think this could end up being very embarrassing for Pippen. When he gets out there for 10-15 minutes a game and these young kids run circles around him it will only hurt the legacy his great career has left. He needs to look for job as team adviser, or some sort of coach or manager. Good shape or not, 41 is still 41. Way over the basketball hill.

No, the Lakers are simply not contenders. Pippen is too old and way past his prime. Dallas or Phoenix will definitely win the Championship they play on a different level than the Lakers. Wait a few more years for the Lakers: Bynum getting older and one more superstar in the place of Radmonovic's $30M contract.

No, he really is over the hill. When Jordan returned for his third stint in the NBA, he wasn't the same player, and Jordan was a few years younger when he played for the Wizards than Pippen is now. The only player ever to play effectively in his 40s was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and even then his numbers had dropped off substantially. Pippen would be at best a role player with veteran leadership. Plus, it's not like they'd put Odom on the bench at his position.

no he isn't the missing piece.. he'll be 42 this year.. his minutes will be limited considering his age n health.. most?? 15 mins a game.. like jordan making his comeback by joining the wizards he was ok but definitely not fit when its playoff.. malone? payton? 40 plus.. not the missing pieces for lakers either.. right now what i think lakers are looking to rebuild around kobe n odom.. give bynum few more years.. then u might see another ring coming..

no he wont be a big factor in games for any team, but only a teacher. the lakers need players right now not teachers, they have enough teachers(Phil Jackson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). The Lakers need a consistant dominant big man, like Tim Duncan or Yao Ming. That is their big missing piece. Andrew Bynum will be it in 2-4 years

He could very well be. But on the real, you can't really expect him to get ALL that much playing time. So in the effect, he'd just be a good source of info for the younger players, having known Jackson for such a long time. But on the otherhand, Kobe and him could clash, and without Pippen getting a lot of playing time, and just giving pointers on this and that, it may not be a good situation.

No, He is too old to help the Lakers. They will be a better team with Kwame and Mihms and Walton get healthy. Most likley they need to wait for next year.

Pippen is too old to play. They need Bynum to play like Shaq so that they can win a championship!
