Ecodiversity is necessary for life on Earth.
For example, if you break any link in a food chain, you beak the whole food chain. Suppress predators, herds of wild will become uncontrollable. Suppress trees, girafes will get extinct etc.
We need big fishes to eat small fishes, and small fishes to eat plancton ... and be eaten by bigger fishes.
That is an absolute law of nature.
