Well I am not married but I have been and lived with my boyfriend for about four and a half years and NO he has never called me by his ex's name and if he did I would have kicked him to the curb right away because thats F***ed and If we were married that means we had been together long enough for him to know my name and to have forgotten about his ex. And if not he still has some issues with his ex that he needs to resolve.

I'm not married but my grandparents have both been married once before. They have been married now for 35 years and my grandfather still calls my grandmother by his first wife's name. My gram pretends to care by giving him a little yell but then quietly says to everyone he wouldn't know his own name if he had to say it everyday. I think that you have to take it for what it is a slip up. My mom calls me by my sisters name all the time. Names are easy to mix up.

My husband is a total virgin, both with marraige and with sex.
It was such a pleasure for me for a clean new slate that I loved him from when I met him.....It was a breath of fresh air that a virgin would want anything to do with me or my children.
I have let it slip that my ex's name be mentioned, but he just shrugs it off, I love that part about my husband, he has not jealousy or demands for my kids that we stop saying that name, he in fact asks them if they had a good time with their dad, and what not.....he is such a true hope of forgiveness in my life. He (my husband) has inspired me to become more like Christ, even though my own family was a mess and so called "christian".
It's easy now to hold someone else blameable for our own mess, but my husband is such a great husband to me and step in father to my kids that I am just amazed sometimes.
He has made it easier for me to follow Christ, and for him I'm thankful, he is God's blessing to me now instead of just an attractive husband.

My wife does not have any ex prior to her knowing me. Hence no question of using the name.
